Leadership 2011- Nashville

A couple weeks ago we had our Leadership Conference in NASHVILLE. Hello Music City!! I love country music so I was excited. But getting there was a different story. We had a layover in Detroit, it was snowing and I was afraid we weren't going to make it to Nashville. The pilot kept us updated on the snow status from moderate to heavy and back to moderate. There were only five planes out of 30 that didn't get canceled and luckily we were one of the five. Yay! Nashville here we come. Outside my window on the plane.

Once we got checked in the hotel we decided to hit the town of Nashville! We ate at Jacks Bar-B-Que.

Jen, Scott, Cam, Melissa, Me, Casey, and Mike. Enjoying a little BBQ! It was delicious.

As we were walking up and down I noticed a sign outside The Stage. If you saw Country Strong part of it was filmed at The Stage. I couldn't help but pop on in. Oh I could have stayed there all night. After dinner we went to Mike's Ice Cream Shop.
We all had to get the red velvet ice cream. Oh it was to die for, chunks of red velvet cake, cream cheese frosting in ice cream. Oh yeah. it was good.

We stopped and shopped at an Elvis shop, I could resisted a pic.

We stayed at The Gaylord Opryland. Holy cow, this place is awesome. It is huge, don't ask me how many times I got lost. Finally on the last day I found a few short cuts.

Cindy, Jason and Me getting ready to start our day with a few meetings and then started to set up for the show and by the way it was snowing. We had a really really tight schedule to get everything set up we thought we were going to have to pull an all nigher. We got lucky and everything worked out. No all nighters here. I was able to be in bed around 2:00 am and back to the convention center at 6:30 AM oh yeah! It could have been worse.

Ready for the day. Let Bag pick up begin! We look pretty good for only a few hours of sleep :)

This was our stage this year. I thought it was a really cool mainstage.

Our theme was + one.

Just being Crazy!

Saturday morning we finished cleaning up and Saturday night I went to the Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman theater. It was so cool.

I had the opportunity to see Little Jimmy Dickens, He really is little.

Joe Diffie

Mike Snider, Charley Pride, The Whites, Riders in the Sky, Connie Smith, Bill Anderson, Jeannie Seely, Del McCoury Band, Opry Square Dancers, Vince Gill, Bobby Osbourne & Rocky Top X-Press, Wanda Jackson featuring Jack White. It was so cool to see all the old country greats and to be in the Ryman theater. I loved it.

Melissa and Me after the show.

Later that night we met up with our friends at the Wild Horse Saloon.

Cori, Me, Melissa and Shiloh waiting for the Wildhorse Saloon to open. It was closed for a private party.

Finally we got in. We had such a fun time. Before the house band started to play, they were playing music and teaching everyone different line dances. I haven't country danced in a long time and it all came back. I had a blast.
Taking a break from the dance floor. Cori, Melissa Shiloh and Vampire Lisa. We stayed and danced until the very last possible minute. We had to catch our shuttle and it was the last one of the night.

The next morning we caught our flight back home. It was a great week. I've decided I need to go back to Nashville for sure. I loved that place!

While we were in the airport, these moon pies were everywhere. I decided to try one. I didn't think they were all that good. I mint ones were definitely better but still not that good.

Merry Christmas!

Oh how I love Christmas! It always comes and goes so fast. Christmas Eve we had omletes which is a fun tradition in my family started by my grandpa Mills. Great job Dad!

Christmas morning we opened presents and had an awesome breakfast. I just realized I didn't take very many pictures, or pictures I want on my blog. It was Christmas morning :)

Later that afternoon we met my aunt and uncle and went to the movie True Grit. It was so good. I love it. If you haven't seen it you need to. After the movie we went back to Deb's house for dinner.

The Pope Girls

One of my favorite presents that Santa gaves us was Just Dance 2. It is so much fun. We laughed and danced and hopefully burned some Christmas calories :) That can be a workout!

Me and my brother in law Jeff. Rockin' it out!

We also had a party with the Pope Family! We had another awesome dinner and some family fun time.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, I know I sure did.
